Residence Life Staff
The Housing Department employs both live-in, professional Residence Life Staff and student staff members whose primary objective as a team is to assist residents in any way possible.
Area Coordinator Area Coordinators are full-time, live-in professionals who are responsible for developing and administering a comprehensive residence life program in an area of campus. Each AC supervises three Resident Directors and indirectly supervises student staff in the area. Residence Director Resident Directors serve as full-time, live-in professionals who are responsible for community development in an apartment complex at UTC. The RDs supervise a team of Assistant Resident Directors (ARD) and Resident Assistants (RA).
Assistant Resident Director Assistant Resident Directors are returning and experienced student staff members in each complex. It is the responsibility of the Assistant Resident Directors to assist the Resident Director in any and every possible manner. They also help improve the delivery of services to the resident students and overall improve the campus living experience.
Resident Assistants Resident Assistants are student staff members that are responsible for community development on a floor or section of an apartment complex on campus. RAs perform many roles in the Residence Halls including resource, programmer, policy enforcer, and most importantly community developer.
